Its more than marketing
posted by unavailable on September 3rd, 2010 at 11:43AM You make a good point, that i partly agree with; and we also have different way. we've argued about this before anyways.
you prefer conflict/confrontation and discarding people as idiots if they dont get your point Right Away, and dont think convincing someone with a gun in his hand will make him lower it. i opt for trying to convince in all honesty and not cause reactions because that is how i think information gets through better, because what i basically want is for the Deaf gunman to drop it. I might have to learn sign-language for that, and it will be worth it. Obviously, my thinking is based on my experience of how i react and learn things. What i am questionning, as mentionned earlier, is really the necessity of using this standard label instead of another more powerfull, appealing and CLear one such as non-agression, freedom etc.. And i do get your point about non-thinkers. but everyone can think, and sometimes its a question of unlocking and undoing alot of stuff we've been programmed with. It is my personal preferrence to seek unity rather then reject. |

Ie. If there is someone like Dave, who would pass by this organization, see the label "right-wing", then immediately walk away, we don't want him. We don't want to lower ourselves to the lowest-common-denominator -- to appease the non-thinkers. Thinking is a pre-requisite.
