message for living dead from moi
posted by moi on December 16th, 2010 at 9:16PM

i dont want to influence you either way. i'm all for choices of life and death. and i have no clue who/what you are.

imho, the most important thing to distinguish if you want to die is what you want there to be dead (i have no clue how to say it otherwise).

is it really you, your 'whole' self ? or do you want to kill an event, an emotion, certain thoughts etc... (and perharps your therapist also told you this?)

fantasizing/intellectualising death is one easy thing same as rationnalizing reasons for doing it.

but having death approach real fast changes everything.

there are some many unconscious elements that drive us.

(i purposely paid even less attention to punct, gramm & orthograf, hope you get the message underneath though).

good luck, i really wish you well either way.

I understand that wanting to die may be temporal and caused by a particular person/place/event/string of events (that I will not share).

I like to think it's a more general conviction, and not an emotional reaction.

That's what I wanted to believe too. That it was some kind of objectively right decision to make. And I was actually quite convinced that it was. Until a week or so later, I no longer was. A compelling rational case can be made for either position. (Having cool people around, though, can really tip the scales.)

I understand that.
Also, occupying my thoughts works.   Example: this is fun.

Yeah -- that's basically what I did too. I just started writing. I don't think it's entirely unhealthy to see all of life as temporary occupation of sorts.
