It's painful sometimes, then, to imagine a static universe, and that time is an illusion that only we are subject to because of our consciousness.

This feeling of "pain", really, is at the heart of this discussion. Ideas on their own are inert. They should neither inspire pain nor joy. We add such icing ourselves, subjectively, afterwards. (Or our bio-chemistry is somehow warped.)
Some people may find solace in illusion / static-universes. Others anxiety. |
