You sortof answered one question, and grazed a couple of the others :).

Were you a good student back in the day?--did you ever skip classes, or not do homework? :P

"Skipping classes and not doing homework" is the name of the game to survive in school.

I skipped classes to study, but borrow notes from the ones who attended classes.

Homework - pfff...just copy.

What does it mean to be a good student?

Hehehe. Very true.

Q: What does it mean to be a good student? A: Quitting school :).

(of course, i use a slightly modified concept of the word "student"--namely a learner, and not necessarily someone bound by the rules of the game--which would disqualify the quitter immediately :)

Well, would you say a good learner is a hard-working student, or the one that doesn't have to work that hard, but can still make the grade?

I would say a good learner would be a bad student--that is, a bad player in the game of state-education. State-education inevitably emphasizes shallow learning and preoccupation with grades, and secondarily real understanding.

Real understanding - that was by Vina on December 29th, 2008 at 9:16PM.
