You'll notice the roots of the words monARCHY and oligARCHY. A MON-ARCHY is one-man-ruler. An OLI-GARCHY is a group-of-rulers Common sense /should/ lead you to the definition of anARCHY ... NO RULERS.

Yes. I can't think of any confusing examples. It worked beautifully in this case until people fucked it up with entirely unrelated ideas.

Not really. Even with the wierd definition you mentioned, and the misleading definitions politicians constantly mention, the core remains the same -- nobody controlling my life.

Whether that means that I don't follow ANY rules, or that I will become violent and induce chaos (highly suspicious speculation), is entirely irrelevant to the core concept. It does not deny you collectivists to pay for your own police to protect yourselves, or to follow whatever rules you guys choose.
