Since I don't use at all, I experience no withdrawal periods.
I *could* move to compare how I react... However, I would still have to deal with the meaninglessness of life. I need to live with myself, and I can't rationally do that.

As moi said, everything is meaningless. I actually came to this realization last December too, and it was ... quite frightening.
"Rationality" is also very subjective -- all it really is, is your consistency to follow your core beliefs. So, if you define "survival" as a core belief, it follows that living is rational.
