Perhaps.

But there are many kinds of pain. The pain of exercise can be quite enjoyable. The pain of betraying oneself -- I'm not so sure.

Ok, fine :). My main point was simply that a lot of pain/suffering is unecessary -- such as repressive Macromedia software. Suffering already seems inevitable and excessive without us voluntarily adding more to the heap.

Although, at least according to that (crappy :b) logotherapy book I'm currently reading, it can be argued that all pain can be perceived as good; similar to Nietzsche's "if it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger."

Not enough to make me bend over

True.

I guess I'm just not masochistic enough to submit to Macromedia, and/or there is nothing I currently crave enough to make me bend over :b.

Either way, I don't support people trying to violently tell me how to use my computer (ie. their State-enforced licenses, and even the nature of their binary-only software). So, for future reference, either don't post Flash-only content (there are exceptions, like youtube-ripping scripts exist, and flash-videos with direct links to the .flv files are acceptable), or make it explicit that only repressed Macromedia users can view it :P.

You do

You do. It's just that only Macromedia customers can view Flash content -- not me, and countless other viewers :b. It's basic netiquette.
