Well, of course I would like to keep every penny I earn, but I can understand why we have to spit out some to help our economy.   Didn't I send you a digital textbook on Securities?   Capital is sensitive, it drifts to places that carries a strong economy.   If our government has a huge debt, and doesn't fix it, our economy will crash.   It's balance that I take account to; hence, I don't mind inflation.   It sucks, it really sucks.   Man, I hate politics.

You are a very confused girl. And clearly all your economics texts aren't helping any.

But, weak knowledge of economics aside, there are several pink elephants in the room that you are absolutely completely still ignoring. First of all, the phrase "our government" is absolutely wrong. I don't endorse them. Nobody really endorses them. It's forced on us. It certainly doesn't act on my behalf! This is a crucial point you have to understand.

And second of all, you say "I, Vina, don't mind stealing Dennis' pennies". Well, good for you. I do mind! This is another crucial point that you still clearly don't understand.

Most of us would like to have a higher standard of living in Canada.   In order to do so, we must contribute to enhance the economy.   Believe it or not, our salaries have been increasing throughout history (surely there are years of recession, but that's only part of the business cycle, and then it recovers - thanks to government intervention).

A /really/ confused girl. The numerical value of our salaries has certainly been increasing (due to inflation), but the only important value, our purchasing power, has actually been *decreasing*!

Moreover, I believe I want an even higher standard of living than you! How dare you falsely and blindly assume that I would want anything otherwise? I *strongly* believe that a gold-backed currency (or any other non-volatile and in-tamperable standard), and NO inflation, etc, would drastically improve the quality of our lives!

But, most importantly, how can you STILL completely ignore the blatant injustice and evil implicit in your view? How can you justify putting guns to my head, and violently robbing me, FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER?

This is not just about "you".   I and the others have to contribute.   To some point, I do see it as robbery.   I don't like it, but what can one do?   You're only complaining.

No, actually, this is ALL abou by dennisn on March 23rd, 2009 at 10:37PM.
