They're usually unrealistic with regard to how men behave.   This is the quality that makes women like them and men tend to not.

They're also unrealistic with regard to how women behave. Which is the quality that makes men like them. Ilsa is great; and unrealistic.

Another difference to note is that women tend to like their portrayal in these movies.   Men tend to not - They're generally put forward as either a blundering idiot unaware of what's going on around him OR an ultra-romantic connoisseur of women and all that pleases them.

I don't know what you're referring to by "these movies". Surely not Casablanca or Gone with the wind, or any of Imdb's top movies.

Also, it is non-sensical to say "men are portrayed" (or women for that matter) in a certain way. Just because one character is a blundering idiot, that doesn't mean all men are. I would certainly not take offense to such a representation, "on behalf of my sex".

Finally, there do exist ultra-romantic connoisseurs of women. And also blundering idiotic men. And if you like them, fine. But don't try to claim that all women do. Or even that they generally do. It gives womankind in general a bad name.

If that were the case..

Then why do men like non-romance movies, where men also behave just as unrealistically in most scripts?

Because entertainment value outweighs emasculation.
