[Poll] Do you like polls?
posted by Driusan on January 1st, 2008 at 9:19PM

I added a kind of dynamic polls feature. It works thusly:

If a story (or comment, or wiki page..)'s title ends in a "?" /or/ starts with "[Poll]", then on the story page it'll interpret the subject of any reply to that story that as a write in poll answer and show a graph of the votes at the bottom. Only comments that are direct children of the story count, not grandchildren.

You can also see how any story/comment/wikipage/whatever would be interpreted as a poll (it doesn't matter whether or not it has "[Poll]" or "?") by going to http://www.misfortunate.o.../poll.php?id=519 .. where "519" is the appropriate id.

So give it a try and let me know how it works.

UPDATE: only your last vote counts now
boo.
Poll: [Poll] Do you like polls?
No (1/4) 25%
Now I Know (1/4) 25%
Only Front Page Counts Most Recent Vote (1/4) 25%
Yes (1/4) 25%
(The title of your last reply gets polled.)

By the way, as of NOW(), only the front page counts the latest votes. [[Driusan]] has to update this page to get it working here as well.

Ok.   So case-sensitivity is intact.

It shouldn't be.

I need to think of a way to handle that easily.. there's no such thing as a case insensitive group by in SQL, as far as I know, and using upper(), lower(), or initcap() will all make things look kinda weird.
