...that my atheism and acceptance of Enlightenment principles is "the successful product of the hegemony of the West".   It's a part of my being a "cultural fascist".   I had to leave again.  

It was painful.

This part is actually true. And it's a good thing! (I understand that this was not the intended meaning).

I dunno. I should think that one's atheism and acceptance of Enlightenment principles are the successful product of sanity and reason, and not some arbitrary geo-political construction. Unless "the West" doesn't refer to geography but a sane mentality, regardless of residence?

It sounds like your prof buys into the statist bullshit fairy tale that self-appointed "elites" (intellectuals, politicians, him) control the flow of information and ideas.
