Deadline for subject submissions is the night of Saturday December 20th.
We will then have exactly one week to complete the short story, ending the night of Saturday December 27th.
We will then have three days to enjoy the stories, and nominate the second world mfssf champion, who will be crowned on January 1st 2009.

I'm going to have to contest that. Deadline *should* be after New Years Eve. Preferably something like the 5th.

The deadline for the subject submission?
If you meant for the story submission, you realize that making the contest longer actually makes it harder. I mean, you could make it a year-long thing, and have masterfully crafted characters and subplots--but I thought the idea was quick and messy and fun writing?

I actually agree with Dennis.
Also, there's that tiny issue of my classes and work schedule resuming on Jan 5th. So, I'd prefer to have my writing festival fun over with by then.
