It's just not happening.

1) All the bikes I want within price budget are way outside of the GTA.   The ones that do show up are taken up before I can even talk to the seller.

2)a)Insurance: Called the provider I used last time to get a quote, ins:"I'll pass the info to blank and he'll get back to you." me: "How long will that take?"   ins: "As soon as blank can." me:"Okay, can you give me an estimate today or tomorrow or even a week?"   ins:"Can I put you on hold?" me: "Fine." ins: "How can I help you?"   me:"I was on the phone asking for a quote and wondering when to expect a call." ins: "As soon as blank can." me: this is pointless "Fine."
(It's almost a full week still waiting.)

2)b)Insurance: Guy who's been known to give good rates and good source of info on gtamotorcycles.com Emailed him and still waiting for a reply.

I was hoping to bike coast to coast like Boston to Seattle and along the coast south to Mexsico.   But lack of everything from time to money is making that unlikely.

Third (General info):

Insurance rates defer hugely from online quotes.   So pick up the phone and call a number of brokers/providers.
Statefarm is best if you have 5yrs or more experience on even a G1 since they go by CC and not bike type like SS which have huge mark ups.   If you bring over a car some actually require so you get a decent break on top.

Mechanic: Ken he's like an hour drive from Toronto but charges 35/hr compared to the standard 75 in normal shops.   Also goes the extra mile picks up and drops off the bike without additional fees.   That might have changed but not when I dealt with him.   He does get very busy and this isn't his full time job but does it as a hobby and to help people out.

Pretty quick to reply for someone who doesnt seem to be a tech geek.

Bike:   Don't be stupid this isn't a bicycle where you can learn from your mistakes.   Don't push your abilities without acquiring with gradual experience.   This is how you wreck and die on a bike.   Expecting to do a 500km trip within the first month of driving is beyond stupid unless you've had experience before (dirtbikes etc).

Oil: Check and changed often as required.

Maintenance:   Most bikes have a set of tasks that should be carried out, like valve jobs especially important on new bikes first 500km then 1000km or something like that could be miles check the owners manual.   Not doing so you risk costly repairs and your own safety.   This things should be done a lot short periods than a car.   Oiling the chain every 400km on my last bike.

Gear:   It'll save your skin literally.

That's all for bike info that's on my head.   Trying to share the knowledge I've learnt. (Doing Dennis proud.   The true spiritual leader of the unspiritual ways.)
